104th Fighter Wing Tests Readiness in Multi-Phase Combat Readiness Exercise

Under Secretary of the Air Force Matt Lohmeier visited Aviano Air Base, Italy, Sept. 25, 2026, to learn how the 31st Fighter Wing prepares its personnel and resources to support United States, NATO and Allied objectives throughout the region. His visit is part of a larger European theater immersion to engage with warriors in action. The visit highlighted the wing’s focus on maintaining readiness through capable leaders, disciplined Airmen and a culture centered on mission execution. As the United States Air Force prepares for increasingly complex operating environments, developing Airmen who can adapt, lead and perform under pressure remains critical to sustaining combat effectiveness.

U.S., Italian Soldiers test strength and interoperability in three day Ederle challenge

Caserma Ederle served as the battleground for a rigorous three day Italian American partnership event, bringing together more than 50 Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 16th Finance Battalion, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, the 529th Military Police Company, and a visiting team from the Italian Army’s NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy and 33rd Reggimento Ambrosiano Sept. 23–25.
