23 LRS introduces new oxygen transport system
he 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron implemented an innovative oxygen transport system for aviators at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, July 23, 2026. The proof-of-concept demonstration, led by the Air Force Petroleum Agency in partnership with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), used a commercially available 5,000-gallon intermodal container to transport liquid oxygen. The effort allowed the larger mobile system to provide a more efficient way to move oxygen to contingency locations where traditional supply methods may be limited.
